FLIGHT LESSON 11: GPS PROCEDURES ADVANCED

Objective: The pilot will increase proficiency in GPS orientation, tracking a GPS course, and flying an arc using GPS. The pilot will also learn advanced programming functions specific to the equipment installed in their aircraft.

Completion Standards

The lesson will have been successfully completed when the pilot can demonstrate an understanding of flying an arc using GPS. The pilot will also demonstrate increased proficiency in GPS orientation, tracking a GPS course, and flying an arc using GPS. The pilot will be able to maintain the desired altitude, ±100 ft.; airspeed, ±10 kt.; heading, ±10°; and GPS CDI with no more than 3/4-scale deflection.
