Objective: To introduce the pilot to DME holding and intersection holding procedures. Additionally, the pilot’s proficiency in other holding procedures is increased through practice.

Completion Standards

This lesson will have been successfully completed when the pilot can demonstrate an understanding of DME holding and intersection holding. Additionally, the pilot will demonstrate increased proficiency in VOR, GPS, and localizer holding procedures. The pilot will be able to maintain the desired altitude, ±100 ft.; airspeed, ±10 kt.; and heading, ±10°; and to track the desired radial or course.
