Completion Standards

The lesson will have been successfully completed when the pilot can explain and use the information on the approach charts, understand and comply with ATC approach clearances, and execute the approach and missed approach procedures. The pilot will be able to maintain altitude, ±100 ft.; airspeed, ±10 kt.; and heading, ±10°, with no more than a 3/4-scale deflection of the CDI, or within 10° in the case of an RMI, throughout the approach. Additionally, the pilot will demonstrate the proper holding pattern entry procedure and proper timing criteria or leg lengths, as appropriate.
